Virtual Gallery Experience
(Client Mockup)
Overview:
Black America Is… is a virtual gallery prototype created to help a client envision an immersive installation that would accompany their cinematic film. Because the intended venue was out of state and inaccessible, I was tasked with designing a digital mockup that could communicate the spatial flow, aesthetic mood, and storytelling experience for internal pitches and promotional use.
Tools and Techniques Used:
-
Unreal Engine
-
Cinematic Sequencing
-
Environment Design
Process:
-
Gathered reference images of the real location and used a kitbash-style workflow to reconstruct an approximate version of the space.
-
Built the environment in Unreal Engine, focusing on spatial composition, architectural continuity, and mood.
-
Designed a conceptual experience flow for how visitors would move through the gallery and interact with the themes of the film.
-
Implemented camera work, lighting, animation, and cinematic sequencing to present the installation as a cohesive walkthrough.
-
Ensured the final mockup supported the client’s narrative, promotional goals, and creative vision.
Result:
A fully realized virtual gallery visualization that allowed the client to preview the installation concept, share the environment with stakeholders, and explore how the film could live as a spatial and emotional experience. The mockup became a key asset in communicating the potential of the exhibit before any physical build-out began.
