Augmented Reality Experience
Overview:
This project explores how immersive and creative technologies can give independent artists new, accessible ways to express ideas beyond traditional media. Inspired by Tyler, The Creator’s world-building, storytelling, and multi-sensory concert experiences, I designed an augmented reality (AR) portal for his song “Sticky” from the Chromakopia album.
Tools and Techniques Used:
-
Blender
-
Adobe Aero
-
3D Modeling
-
Mixamo Animations
-
Augmented Reality
Process:
-
Began with a 3D scan of a real room, using it as the foundation for the digital environment.
-
Customized the scanned space by adding original 3D models, props, and atmospheric elements to reflect Tyler’s visual identity.
-
Created a stylized Tyler-inspired avatar by modifying a base character model, then rigged and animated it using Mixamo to match the energy of the track.
-
Imported all assets into Adobe Aero, where I built the AR portal, configured spatial triggers, and aligned animations and visuals to create smooth, immersive transitions.
-
Implemented a QR-code entry point, allowing users to launch the portal instantly and step into the augmented space using only their mobile device.
Result:
A mobile AR portal that blends a real scanned environment with stylized models, animated performance, and music-driven ambiance—inviting users to step inside a reimagined “Sticky” scene from their own home. The project demonstrates how AR can make immersive storytelling accessible, portable, and artist-centered.
